Red Oak (Quercus rubra) - 7 Gallon Potted Tree
10 left in stock
Red Oak is a beautiful and artistic shade tree with a picturesque loosely pyramidal habit of growth and good red fall colour. Its fast growing for an oak, an extremely tough and adaptable tree. It is best for larger landscapes and prefers loose, slightly acidic soils. Red Oak has dark green foliage which emerges rose in spring. The spiny lobed leaves turn an outstanding Indian Red in the fall. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. However, the fruit can be messy in the landscape and may require occasional clean-up. Red Oak is a deciduous tree with a more or less rounded form. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.
