A fantastic selection with ever-changing colours that lives up to its name. Great Expectations Hosta is a somewhat slow grower, but well worth the wait! It features thick, puckered, slug-resistant leaves with wide blue-green margins surrounding a center splash that changes colours through the seasons. The center starts chartreuse in spring, changing to yellow, then creamy yellow by the end of summer, and finally to white by the end of the season. It forms a mound of large, lush leaves 20 inches high by 40 inches wide from which rise short stalks bearing clusters of pure white flowers that sit just above the foliage. Its slower growth and more diminutive stature make it a fine selection for smaller garden beds and containers, and it is stunning in groupings or mass plantings. A captivating Hosta that will also get the attention of hummingbirds and butterflies.
