Noted for its compact habit, Ligularia 'Bottle Rocket' (Leopard Plant) is a showy, clump-forming perennial noted for its spectacular flower spikes and foliage. The thick, very large, serrated, dark green leaves give the plant a mounded habit and provide great ornamental value. In mid to late summer, the plant sends up tall racemes packed with small, bright mustard-yellow flowers borne on contrasting chocolate stems. The blossoms are held just above the dense clump of foliage, so no naked stems are showing. Superb for the back of the border, this Leopard Plant is useful to make a bold statement along streams and ponds, around pools, or in bog gardens.
